This trend, born in 1980, thanks to the inspiration of British artist Rachel Ashwell, is something between Provence, boho, retro and Victorian classics.

The main features of the style:

• The predominance of complex pastel shades: «coffee with milk», «dusty rose», aivory, silver-gray, whitened mint.

• Vintage decor or its imitation.

Shebby-chic is of two types. In the first case, the interior is trying to fill really old things that were passed down or bought at the «flea market». This option is ideal for a small cottage or dacha.

To finish the bathroom, several materials are used, contrasting in texture, but close in color. Instead of traditional furniture or together with it, in a course go antique suitcases, wicker baskets, attic ladders and other, no less original furnishings. But you will not be left without a shower cabin, the main thing is to make it as inconspicuous as possible, for example, built-in or hidden behind a curtain.

Furniture for shebby-chic

Try to find a suitable cabinet at the junk yards, and then, having made a small remodeling, adapt it to the washbasin. And an antique cabinet, after a slight restoration, will be a great place to store bath towels and household chemicals.

Refuse modern bathroom furniture, and if you still really want to update, choose models in the style of Provence or retro, with artificially aged facades.

• Textiles — there should be a lot of them. It is desirable to use natural silk fabrics, but since we are talking about a bath, curtains for windows and shower room made of polyester will be much more suitable.
• Glass storage containers.
• Wire baskets for towels and toilet paper.
• Wicker laundry baskets.
• Suitcases instead of storage sections.
• Decor items: figurines, pendants, birdcages, candle holders and so on.

And, of course, the main decoration of the bathroom — fresh flowers. Be sure to make a beautiful bouquet of roses, peonies or tulips and put it in a prominent place.
